The most requested transfer in southern Corsica: everything you need to know for a fast, comfortable ride.
The route between Figari Sud-Corse Airport and Porto-Vecchio is one of the busiest in all of Corse-du-Sud. Every summer, thousands of travellers land at Figari to reach this popular seaside town, its beaches and its historic hilltop centre. Understanding the specifics of this journey helps you travel with peace of mind from the moment you arrive.
The distance between Figari Airport and Porto-Vecchio is approximately 25 kilometres, or about twenty to thirty minutes by road depending on the time of year.
The journey is straightforward in 20 to 25 minutes. The RN198 dual carriageway is free-flowing and the centre of Porto-Vecchio is easily accessible.
In July–August, traffic can noticeably extend the journey time. Allow 30 to 45 minutes, or even longer at peak hours (midday, late afternoon) or during busy holiday weekends. The RN198 is the only main road connecting Figari to Porto-Vecchio and it is very busy at these times.
Tip: if your flight lands mid-morning or early afternoon in peak season, allow extra time, particularly if you have a ferry connection to catch at Porto-Vecchio port.In peak season, queues at car hire counters at Figari Airport can be long (30 minutes to over an hour). With a pre-booked taxi, your driver is waiting for you at the baggage exit and you hit the road immediately.
The town centre and old port of Porto-Vecchio are notorious for parking difficulties in summer. By taxi, you are dropped at the exact address — hotel, port, holiday rental — without spending 20 minutes hunting for a space.
With luggage, children or passengers with reduced mobility, a taxi offers unrivalled comfort. Our vehicles can accommodate up to 8 passengers with their luggage for groups and families.
The fare is fixed in advance. No nasty surprise on the meter, no extra charge for additional luggage. You know the price before you even get in the vehicle.
Porto-Vecchio and its surrounding area offer many addresses our drivers know inside out:
The old town of Porto-Vecchio, perched on its promontory, is a must-see. Its cobbled lanes, restaurants and boutiques draw visitors and residents alike throughout the summer.
Porto-Vecchio port is a regular stop for ferries from Nice, Marseille and Livorno. Whether you are disembarking or embarking from this port, a taxi is the most practical way to reach the airport or regional accommodation.
