Ferry schedules, port-to-airport transfers and best practices for a smooth journey in southern Corsica.
Corsica is accessible by sea from mainland France and Italy. The ports of Porto-Vecchio and Bonifacio welcome thousands of passengers every year from Nice, Marseille, Toulon, Livorno and Genoa. To reach your accommodation from the port, or get to the port from Figari Airport, a taxi is the fastest and most comfortable option.
The port of Porto-Vecchio is served primarily by Corsica Ferries with routes from Nice, Toulon and Savona (Italy). Overnight crossings are common in peak season, allowing you to arrive in Corsica early in the morning.
In summer (June to September), ferries run daily from Nice and twice weekly from Savona. In the off-season, services are reduced to two or three times a week from Nice. Check the Corsica Ferries website for the latest schedules.
The port of Porto-Vecchio is well placed for reaching:
Bonifacio is one of the most beautiful fortified towns in the Mediterranean, perched on white limestone cliffs. Its natural harbour, set deep within a rocky inlet, is a favourite mooring for yachtsmen and ferries from Sardinia.
The port of Bonifacio also receives cruises and seasonal services from other Corsican and Italian ports.
Arriving by ferry with luggage, hiring a car at the port involves additional paperwork. With a pre-booked taxi, you step off the boat and straight into the vehicle.
Ferries sometimes run late, especially in peak season. When booking with LiberTaxi, provide the ferry name and operator: your driver tracks the actual arrival time and adjusts accordingly.
Our drivers know the port access points in Bonifacio and Porto-Vecchio inside out, including parking areas and specific drop-off points for each shipping company.

2. Taxi transfer Bonifacio → accommodation in Porto-Vecchio (45 min) 3. End of stay: taxi transfer accommodation → Figari Airport (30 min)All these combinations are possible, as single trips or with stops.

Arriving by ferry after a night at sea can be tiring. For a smooth pick-up, a few tips:
In peak season, changeover days (Saturday and Sunday) account for the majority of ferry arrivals. The ports of Porto-Vecchio and Bonifacio can be very busy on those days.
For a short stay (3 to 5 days) without long-distance travel, the ferry-plus-taxi combination is often more economical than hiring a car, especially in peak season when rental prices soar. Contact us for a package tailored to your stay via our contact page.
